Kirk T. Steudle is Econolite’s Senior Vice President, responsible for leading the Company’s Transportation Systems Group, including its subsidiary CAVita. Mr. Steudle also serves as the current Interim President and CEO of the American Center for Mobility. While not a candidate for the permanent position, he is guiding the organization through transition while a national search is conducted to hire a permanent chief executive. As former director of the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), Steudle successfully managed MDOT’s $4.7 billiondollar budget and was responsible for the construction, maintenance, and operation of nearly 10,000 miles of
Michigan’s highways and more than 4,000 highway bridges at a department with 2,700 employees. An industry veteran, he began his career with MDOT as a civil engineer in 1987, rising through the ranks to director in 2006.

Steudle is a nationally recognized leader in the development of connected vehicle technology, serving as chair for the Intelligent Transportation Society of America Board of Directors and a member of its Program Advisory Committee to the USDOT. His resume includes chairing the Transportation Research Board executive committee, serving as the 2011-2012 president to the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and a member of the AASHTO Board of Directors since 2006. Steudle is a graduate of Lawrence Technological University, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Engineering. He also serves on the College of Engineering Advisory Board and was inducted into its Hall of Fame in 2012.
