Amy Phillips has recently assumed the position as Head of Intelligent Transport Systems Operations at Transport Scotland, Scottish Government’s National Transport Agency. Responsibilities include the governance of electrical supplies to Transport Scotland’s Electrical Roadside Assets, Scotland’s trunk road and motorway LED lighting upgrade programme, traffic data and the management of the traffic and travel information provided through the Traffic Scotland and Traveline Scotland Services. Amy has lead responsibility for the procurement of the successor to the Traffic Scotland Operations and Infrastructure Services Contract.
Following a period in Network Rail’s Scottish Track Renewals Team post Hatfield, Amy gained an MSc in Transport Planning and Engineering at the University of Leeds Institute for Transport. She then worked in consultancy undertaking transport appraisals and development planning/management roles before joining Transport Scotland. She won the Institution of Highways and Transportation (now CIHT) Young Transportation Professional of the year and holds the Transport Planning Professional qualification. Amy has undertaken a number of roles at Transport Scotland most recently as Road Safety Manager responsible for managing the casualty reduction budget for the north west and south east of Scotland.
